Dick Wilson Obituary, Death – My good friend Dick Wilson passed away on Monday morning, leaving this world behind and entering Jesus’ arms in the everlasting presence of Heaven. Dick and I had been friends for many years, during which time he devotedly performed the role of an Elder at Coastal Life. He was one of the most admirable examples of godliness in my life because of his unwavering devotion to God, which was apparent to everyone who knew him.

For an incredible 48 years, Dick faced the unrelenting challenges of ALS, but he never wavered in his devotion. His fortitude was astounding; he approached every day with faith, never once giving in to resentment or grumbling. Rather, he served and worshipped Jesus with unmatched dedication throughout his life, living as a testament to his unwavering faith in Him. Dick and I went on a mission trip together, and it was there that I saw his unending compassion for others. His physical abilities deteriorated with time, but his heart never wavered in its dedication to sharing kindness and love. I supported him as he labored to raise his hands in prayer, his tenacity acting as a moving reminder of the strength of faith in the face of difficulty.

There were many times when they prayed, and the power of Dick’s spiritual connection always outweighed his difficulty speaking. His insight was a beacon of guidance for me as I managed the duties of pastoring and leading our congregation. Beyond simple admiration, Dick has inspired me and served as a living example of the transformational potential of unwavering faith.

Thinking back on Dick’s legacy, I picture him in Heaven, freed from the bonds of suffering on Earth. He is no longer constrained by his physical body and, as he revels in the presence of our Savior and Heavenly Father, he stands tall, walks freely, speaks clearly, and sings with unbridled joy. Though his departure has left a hole in my heart, I am incredibly grateful to have had the honor of knowing such a remarkable person. The legacy of Dick Wilson will always act as a reminder of the enduring strength of love, hope, and faith.
